Knife Throwing

lol, that would be awesome.

I also want to learn how to dodge-roll SCCT style.

Hell, how about some ninja lessons 😉

I'm new to weapons. I've got a friend who's really big on them. He's a rather aggressive person, and for the first 10 months or so that I knew him I kind of avoided his sharp, pointy objects. But I went knife/sword shopping with him about a month ago and bought this really cool knife. I've decided it's the greatest thing ever, and I want to learn to throw. Don't have any throwing knives currently. As soon as I get some money I'll work on that.

I've been corrupted.

I'm probably going to kill someone before I get the hang of it....

I can't aim. This probably isn't the best sport for me...but knives are so pretty and shiny and...oooo...

If a woman starts throing knives at me i'll know it's time fo leave and it doesn't matter HOW nekkid they are.

Seriously, arching your back and pushing yuor behind out is hawt, throwing knifes is not.

You need some well balanced throwing knives, might as well throw in some shurikins (sp?) too.

shuriken. i googled it because i didn't know what it was. i'm a n00b. they look fun.........

Practice...I dunno about spin throws, the way I throw is the blade rotates once towards the object and stays in that general position till it makes contact. Spin throws are more powerful I guess but take alot more skill as you need to estimate the distance and # of rotatations so the blade always makes contact.

Suggest a good, safe place to practice?

I'm up north at the boat/camping a lot...but when I'm in the city the park always works...post pics of the knife?

If you can get your hands on a pair of good log sections, you can make a pretty good knife target. Just stand one up on its end, and lay the other horizontally across it. Aim at the concentric rings on the stump's cross-section.

What is most important to learn as you begin throwing you knives is the rate at which they tumble end-over-end as they hurl toward the target. You need to know what distance from the target is equivalent to 1 revolution of the knife, or 0.5 or 1.5 revolutions if you're throwing with a blade grip. Then stand at exactly that distance, and make throws that let the knife tunble naturally and consistently each time.

You're serious about this? What are you going to use it for, self defense? do you realize that the same laws that covers concealed weapons also covers shurikens, IOW, you could be carrying a glock or a shuriken for self defense.

If it is just for fun then i suggest you get a good solid arrow board, these borsd sustain hits from the strongest bows and won't shred easily, you can put a pic or your ex boyfriend or whatever on that and in the event that you don't put it in the chair, monitor, wall, whatever i'm sure you can have some fun with it.

Ok, enough fun at your exspense, let's have some at my expense, when i was younger o so much younger then todaaaay, i n... oh wait, i was telling a story here, well, we usually just went out into the woods and practiced on trees.

Yeah, that was a boring story but hell, throwing shurikens at trees isn't all that exciting.
