Knee-jerk reaction?

Just a thought suggested by one of my colleagues. What are peoples thoughts.

"Is declaring a war on terror a knee-jerk reaction to 9/11 in the same way banning guns can be considered a knee-jerk reaction to a mass killing?"

going after osama/taliban and going after saddam are 2 completely different things

IMHO its not....both are terrible people, who, as far as i can tell have no good in them at all....we let osama slide for years and look what he did to us...so you are saying we should let saddam go and just wait and see what he does?

The thread title deals with this on a larger scale than the imminent Iraq conflict. I will reword the title. "Is declaring a war on terror..."

Whats really going on here is an American President with enough character to actually DO something about terrorism and maniac
dictators. The last President had eight years to deal with bin lauden/Huessan/N.Korea,and did nothing to amount to anything. If Bush does nothing, then the next generation(yours for most at'ers)will have nukes going off in their cities, poison gas attacks, ect. We have to take a stand and this is or will be it.
