The marketplace is phasing out K-mart. I'm shocked they're in business. The only K-Mart near me is in a decent neighborhood and it's more ghetto than the worst Walk-Marts. I've never seen a department store that dark and dirty.

I can't imagine that the markup on console games, devices, and accessories is that much compared to other products.

I remember asking my mom when I was a child why we never went to K-mart. She'd just tell me that it wasn't a very nice place and that was the end of that.

The Mall, Kmart, Walmart, Supermarket, Staples, Home Depot, Office Depot, Bank of America etc, etc, etc...

All relics from the past. I do all of my shopping and banking online. I deposited a check right into my savings account via my smart phone.

Stopped by a Kmart a few weeks ago for the first time in about 10 years. Was heading out of town and hoped to take advantage of the free check-cashing they offered since my bank wouldn't be open for another hour and I wanted to get a jump on traffic.

Unfortunately the antiquated processing equipment they attempted to scan my paycheck with mangled it to the point it was nearly unreadable and not only were they unable to cash it, I was almost unable to have it cashed at my bank as a result!

No only was trying to cash my check there a complete waste of my time, the store itself was a filthy dump. I suppose I should have known better and I'll never set foot it that shit-hole again.

They can't go out of business fast enough.

I still see KMart (ok, Sears/KMart) commercials on TV from time to time. There isn't a KMart within 100 miles of me.

The Sears at my local mall looks a lot like the KMart we had here up until about 15 years ago.

My first job was at K-mart. After that I decided never to work retail again. Last year they closed the K-mart near here. Still one open with in 10 miles.
