A POS home theater will not kick the Klipsch 5.1's ass, guaranteed. Hell, even these 2.1 systems make those systems sound like a pansy...

I have a POS Kenwood and Jensen duo I bought at CC 2 weeks ago for $229 and I WILL PUT MONEY on it that it will kick the 4.1 Klipsch in the ass. I had a pair before I sold it for this setup. I haven't heard the 5.1 yet so I can't comment.

EDIT: BTW for you z560 owners take out te woofer and line the back of the sub box with subwoofer net (baffle?! i forgot the name). My friend did it and it fixed the boomy effect and made them sound deeper.

truth be told neither klipsch nor logitech makes decent audiophile grade speakers. They are definitely not NEUTRAL by any means and have very aggressive bass and treble. I've tweaked the hell outta my klipsch's and i still can't get them to sound the way i want them too, sometimes they are too boomy. Oh well they were only $250 so who's complainin?

Um... I think you just did.

Personally, I love my Logitech Z560's. For just $130 you can't beat'em, yo. People can talk Klipsh all they want but I've still got a wad of cash in my pocket and a great set of speakers (for a computer). If you are looking to drop a boat load of cash on speakers, and NOT purchase the Logitechs or Klipsh's, chances are pretty damn good that you aren't going to hook them up to your computer anyway, because you've also got the cash to drop on CDs and wouldn't want to compromise the quality those new high-end speakers by listening to MP3's.

There, I feel better. So, please people, stop making this such an issue. Go with the LOGITECH Z560's!!!!

I am going with the Logitech Z560 ! I was thinking about getting the Altec Lansing 641 speakers, but after so many good reviews, it seems like the Logitech's are better speakers. The are both about the same price right now. I like how you can use normal speaker wire with the Logitech speakers.

Just a caution for the people that are deciding whether or not to buy the Logitech Z560's. The sub of the system has some heat issues, and may blow out on you. :( So try to keep it in a nice ventilated area. ;)

And I'll have to agree with TEEZLE, a beginning $300 starter home theater system will produce an output that is better (or at least as good) as the Klipsch 4.1's. ;) I know since I have the 4.1's and had another HT system to do side by side testing. ;) But no complaining about the 4.1's for me....they were only cost $200 (new) when they were released. :)

If I had them, I'd trade them for a PM4.1 (or PM4.2) or a PM5.1 and for the same price point, PM2.1s

IMHO of course :p

heh yea, massive heatsink on the back is kinda odd for the logitechs. power wasted/bad design. not even my old cambridge speakers have external heatsinks:p

Star Wars PM 2.1 Speakers are great.. For Me to Poop On!!

but hey, if you are 30 something over weight male that's into star wars, $250 is nothing, since you won't be dropping the cash on anything practical. (date w/ a hottie) why not get two, one to show case w/ the computer, and another one still shrink wrapped..

i guess it looks cool. but you can do it at home by spray painting your sub silver, then stencil the STAR WARS on the bottom corner. there you saved like $90 after supplies. :D

as for the great Klipsch v Logitech debate. if you have the money to spend on PMs, then cool, if not Logitechs are a pretty good alternative. because for some, money along w/ performance is the issue at hand.

I do want two for my surround setup...Practical Huh, I am married to a hottie...now she is not practical, 300 for her new hair color and cut, I am thinking that the nails were included in that but who knows. Then the grand she dropped on maturnity clothes that she will be able to wear for 3 months...then it is shopping again for the nexts 3 months worth of cloths.

That is alright, but this might get you going:
