Klipsch speakers

It's pretty much a given that I am going to purchase a Klipsch set of speakers. My only concern is whether to go with the 2.1 or 5.1. The reason being is that the room that has the puter is probably 8 x 10 at best and I have some concerns about overkill and quality of sound in such a small area with the 5.1's.

Another idea that popped through my head was to get the 5.1's and but 2 of the speakers in an adjacent bedroom (that would be real nice if i can get a good sound)!! It is quit apparent that the 5.1's will do a better job but really don't know how they will perform in given they are in a small area.

thanks for the responses..

3 years ago, i had the Klipsch "4.2s" (2x 2.1s marketted as 4.2 incorrectly since there is only one subwoofer channel duplicated, not 2 individual subwoofer bands) in quite a small living area. They worked nicely. If you dont mind the speaker cable wiring (5.1s have quite a bit of wiring) get them. They sound quite a bit better due to better subwoofer and other electronics.

BTW, I had the "4.2s" set up so that the rears were 3' behind me mounted on a wall. My computer area was a 5' x 5' corner.

Now, I have the Ultra 5.1s in a computer area that is 8'x12' and they are awesome. - Especially for DVD movies and games. They do a great job with music as well. Make sure you have a 5.1 soundcard.
