Oh wait, this isn't Slashdot. How about giving us some details about your situation? Or are you just trying to cause a riot? :) I love my ProMedias.

I love them as computer speakers. But keep in mind, that's all they are.

Don't start an argument on how they suck compared to real speakers when they only cost $300 and they're multimedia speakers.

The Horn tweeters: Good for SPL, usually worse for SQ.
The Woofers: pathetic. 3inch woofers can barely produce mids.
The Sub: Although "powerful", 2 6.5inch woofers only go low enough in frequency to the roughly 40hz level. Perfect for the average gamer and part music listener.
No where will you find audiophile, because they're not audiophile speakers.
Klipsch is more of a HT speaker, which it does quite well.

I had always heard horn tweets were the best for SQ... I have heard great things about Image Dynamics Horns.

my buddy has some very old Klipsch house speakers with 18" woofers, and they are the loudest cleanest speakers I have ever heard. They almost compare to Peavey Black Widow PA speakers.... which are ASS-KICKERS. Thier computer speakers are also well above the average in quality and loudness.

I find your post without merit of any kind. Please state why in the world you would say "the best speakers suck".

Viperoni, I agree with you 110%. I'm not impressed by the Promedias whatsoever. Now, their HT stuff? Wow.

Although I'll never buy a commercial speaker again (except maybe for re-sell :Q ;)), they do have some nice stuffs.

Agree 120% :) Their HT speakers are nice...I've demo'd some at a store and a relative owns a 5.1 Klipsch setup..I was pretty impressed. The ProMedia's were polluting my ears ;) (no offense to promedia owners:Q)

I can't help but agree, their higher end stuff ROCKS, but considering what the ProMedias are, they're amazing. (I know a Klipsch reseller who owns several studio monitors. No, the ProMedias don't compare, but for $300 I don't expect them to :))

I still love my ProMedias though :) Make my ACS-33s and -54s sound like these unpowered eMachine speakers I have (they remind me of fuzzy dice you'd hang off your rearview) in comparison.

HungryPete, LOL, no offense. It was just a line to instigate a response. I own a set of ProMedia 4.1s, and if you look at my post in the middle, there is a link titled re. A very innocuous link, you prolly missed it. But it directs to a thread in the hot deals forum where someone was claiming that the Monsoon 4.1 setup was better than the Promedia 4.1 setup. Just checking. Please respond accordingly, and bring some neosporin for my bunghole, for I thinkest that I just got reamest.

The monsoon's are nice if you want the flat panel speakers, but I'd definetely take teh Klipsch's over those if I had to pick between the 2.

the Klipsch's have some of the most unnatural sounding bass I've ever heard---it may be powerful, but it does not sound good, IMO.

I'm referring to the ProMedias

Don't know about the computer speakers but the ones I have had hooked to my sterro for 23+ years still just get LOUD with no distortion.

Great stuff before BOSE.
