Currently i have the klipsch ProMedia V.2-400s and im thinking of switching. Would this be a wise choice or not? I dont have the upgraded CP-1 for the promedias. Any opinions are appreciated.

stay with the Klipsch.... anything with the name Klipsch in it RULES ALL!@# =) (but seriously... if you are going to upgrade, go to the Klipsch Promedia 5.1.... when you put it on full blast, I swear you will cry =)

don't blow your money when you don't need to...the Klipsch are awesome speakers...as the Logitechs...you already have the Klipsch..so buy something that you NEED... 🙂

A buddy of mine wants the klipsch so its basically a trade. Im just wondering if its worth it. If i do decide to switch hes paying me exactly what i can get the z-560s for.

no kidding, spend that money on a second harddrive or a cpu upgrade...

IMHO, I've heard klipsch 5.1/4.1/2.1 and I'm going to have to say that those z560's are far better than any klipsch computer speaker. The sound is so rich it's unbelievable.

stev0 <- just got his z560's 😀

PM mztykal

he's getting rid of his z560's

i find it completely amazing that someone started a thread about getting rid of their z560's while another anandtech member starts a thread on what to buy, z560's of promedia's

Not looking to buy them off the board, im going to get them locally if i do. All I need to know is if its worth my while to switch. I know I have great speakers already but im just trying to help a buddy out.

QC on the electronics of the Z560's is obviously worse, but I have very little doubt they sound better than the Klipsch's.
Coming from a DIY'er, that means a lot 🙂

if you already have the Promedia's, dont' bother....though the Z56's are a much better bargain....

klipsch if you have the money. BAss more punchy

Thats actually one of the areas that aren't at all subjective.. the z560's sub is much more powerful. Too powerful.

Yes its more powerful but what he said is the klipsch sub is more punchy. Generally the bigger the sub the less punchy it is, unless you have a big high quality sub. So should I keep the pro medias and not get the Z-560s? Remember its basically a trade and im not losing anything.

I just got the z560s last friday. I would recommend you keep the Promedias. Why? Because both speaker sets are top notch.
The z560s are a better buy... much cheaper...

Both sound amazing.

Your promedias are much more expensive however, so its in no way a fair trade...

I love my Z560s, but I would have preferred to have even the older Klipsch model you have. You have obviously paid more for your speakers than what you will receive in return. I don't think it would be logical to trade. Tell your buddy to cough up some more $$$ for it to be fair.

The logitech I find are WAY too bassy and drowns out any treble that comes out of those speakers. I'm happy with my Klipsch v2-400. Our opinions are all relative. What you need to do is go over to your pal's place and hear his speakers out then decide for yourself.

His buddy doesn't have the speakers, his buddy is just giving him the money to get the Z560s

the klipsch promedia 4.1 set is AWESOME, the 5.1 set is not as amazing considering the money you have to spend. For 5.1 speakers the midiland s4 8200s are better. The Logitechs can't be beat for their price / performance. Go with the logitechs unless you have money to burn
