I'm looking for new speakers. I read a review for the Klipsch Promedia GMXs and they say that they don't have any separate analog channel inputs. I'm not exactly an audio-buff, so can anybody explain the ramifications to me? I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. I heard that analog inputs are the most common for computer soundcards . . . does this mean that the speakers won't be able to use all the channels? >.<
Thanks!

Well, I am not familiar with that system but I just read up a bit on it. You are right that is lacks 5.1 analog connections. This normally would mean no surround sound in games with your SB card. However, the IGN review mentions an adapter. However, I have never heard of an "adapter" to do what they are would want it to do for less than $100.

Basically, if you play games, I would be wary as it might not work well with this system.

Yet another reason people hate the GMX line.

And its not so much an adapter as a SPDIF modulator, which will cost you at least a hundred bucks.
If you like the speakers so much get the modulator. You can buy them online or go to Best Buy or Radio Shack.

I'd recommend swapping them for an analog speaker system like the Promedia Ultra 5.1 or the Logitech Z-5300's or 5500's.
