I could drive over there and take a look sometime. They used to be in Rivergate, now they are out by 100 oaks. They are like any other crazed dealer, they try to sell to people that don't know exactly what they are looking for. If you know, you can get decent deals sometimes.

Don't know if they are slimy, just a little sloppy, I would guess 😉

I'm a little nervous about their resellerratings:

September - January: 23 ratings, average score of about 1
February - March: 229 ratings, average score of about 9

What the heck happened in the last 2 months?

Thanks for the post. The price makes this deal very tempting!

Thanks for the info ... i placed an order yesterday night ... The price was too tempting.
I already have great yamaha speakers, but i cudn't resist THX certified speakers.
I hope this is indeed brand new or atleast in good working condition.
Will post again once I receive them.

I've been using Creative Inspire 4.1's for a long, long time now. Would it be worth it to downgrade to 2.1 for these speakers? Would I get a noticable improvement in sound quality?

For what its worth, Klipsch has the 4.1's refurb's for about $129.00 ($145.00 shipped). They have others also like the GMX and Ultras. I'd stay away from the GMX's though.

Other folks have had these also.

it won't be a downgrade, i promise you. i have a set of logitech z560's which are very similar to the klipsch in terms of sound quality and couldn't be happier with the sound. its a 4.1 setup but 2.1 is perfect if you don't want wires laying around everywhere

So is the $49.00 for the speakers and the sub or just the speakers?....as noted above they're selling the sub alone for $69.99....I say buyer beware.

I have the 4.1 ProMedias; must say they are the best PC speakers that I've owned (i've had em all). Considering I got mine brand new from *uhhuh*Cost.com for $120, I'd say search around for a better deal.

That's my $.02; but hey, I'm just a diamond in the rough. What do I know?.?.?.

Where does it say no sub included? It says 2.1 speaker system and I don't see any mention of them not including the sub. Great price for a great set of speakers, but I would be careful with this vendor.

mine are on their way .... has anyone received them yet?
And where does it mention that the subwoofer is not included?
The ad clearly mentions 2.1 ... Can anyone who has received these
speakers confirm?

If you search they're selling the 2.1 linked here for the stated price...but they're also selling the sub alone for another $60 or so....and that is listed as a 2.1 as well. Not clear, which is why I tagged it buyer beware.

This one has "too good to be true" all over it. Newegg has these speakers for more than double the price (almost triple if you wanted round up). Anyone know anything about these guys?

OK, got the Promedia's in. They came in the retail box, and were shipped that way as well. (no double boxing) Luckily nothing was damaged. Everything was included and the speakers look almost new. The cords were unwrapped, but otherwise everything was in tip top shape. I hooked them up and tested them, man they are some awesome speakers. I hope to use these in a 4.2 type setup at home. I noticed another shipping sticker that had a destination of a Best Buy store in Ohio. I think this confirms these are returned items. Anyone else want to report in? I may grab another set, at this price it's a damn good deal!

🙂

Thats when/where I got mine. Been loving them since.

same here...I jumped on that deal at Sam Goody's years ago...speakers are totally amazing...people still freak out when I play music through my computer..

There are a boat-load of these on ebay (refurbished, open box, returned, etc...). So I'm a little concerned about reliability as well.

Ok ... I just received mine. The box was all beaten up. So I thought it might probably be return/openbox. I inspected the contents, and they seemed to be in good shape. All the manuals/cables are included and the speakers didn't seem to have any mark on them.

After hooking them up, I can only say one thing - WOW! I hadn't realised MP3 could sound this good. These can play LOUD. Just take care that you don't place the subwoofer next to the monitor. Its not shielded which is a shame.

But that apart, these are seriously good speakers at a decent price. Hopefully they'll last for sometime. I'm debating whether to get another pair.... but I've no idea where I'll keep them. As it is, these 2.1 sound kinda overwhelming in my ultra small room.
