Is the Klipsch ProAudio 2.1 set pretty much the best it gets for computer speakers (2.1 setup ofcourse) for the price? I would go 5.1 but i dont really need it.

It's one of the better ones marketed specifically as "computer speakers" but there's nothing stopping you from getting better equipment.

Studio monitors, bookshelf speakers with good nearfield performance, etc.

There are also a couple more recent options that are targeted at the "computer speaker" market as well.

Safe to say any comparatively powered Logitech, <insert other brand name> speakers will do fine for the casual listening. Just a little research on each speaker system's performance for each speaker will tell you quite a bit (though this sometimes does not exist).

But, subsequently, the Klipsch are probably still considered the creme de la creme. I own the 5.1 system, discontinued for a few years now I think. I like them. Hmm, thinking on that, that is what matters. Whichever you buy make sure you like them. Best to go visit a Best Buy or Fry's or Circuit City that has some displays so you can listen to them before hand.
