You're right. You'd have to read the entire thread to realize just about everything that can be said has been (including much clarification) - the rest is just speculation until we hear from Klipsch.

I bet Klipsch has muliple e-mails waiting for them tomorrow morning.

:)

I'm still thinking here! it said the deal was for a limited time only and clock were ticking..
That means they want you to buy now..Sounds like a scheme..They just want to get rid of the 2.1 systems. I might get them if I can get rid of my FPS2000 Digital Surround first...

From owning both the Klipsch 4.1 and the Cambridge 2500, I have to say you can't go wrong with either one. At higher volumes the Klipsch kick the Cambridge ass, but for moderate volume, the difference between the two is minimal (speaking of satelite, as for the sub's the Klipsch is much deeper and clear, but the Cambridge is not bad. Only thing that I can say where the Cambridge is far superior to Klipsch is their breakout box which allows for great tuning and flexibility over Klipsch having to tune from one satelite. If you are an audiophile you will quickly realize that Klipsch messed up by not going with a seperate box, since anyone who spend $300 bucks on computer speakers best be setting them up in the four corners of their room, which means adjusting the volume for Klipsch means getting up out of your chair!

Can someone please explain all the products being discussed here? It's very confusing for me even after reading these 5+ pages of posts because everyone seems to enjoy making up their own naming schemes. I have seen 4.2 (which I understand is the deal being discussed. 4 speakers and 2 subs, got that). Then there is the v2.400, 400, v2-400, v.2-400, and 4.1. This is just after the first 25 posts or so. Which one is the one that is discontinued and which one is the new one with the better/improve control pod with the headphone and line-in jacks?

v2.400 is the discontinued model, the 4.1 is the newer model, and the 4.2's are two sets of the new 2.1 model

Actually at that link to EMS computing, they're selling the 2.1's for 137.21.
Buy two of these sets for the price of $274.42

Of course both the 2.1 and the 4.1 are out of stock there, now I see...

How much sound do you need from your computer! Why not build you own system with some 12" subs while you are at it:D

Now that the 4.1's can be found for $75.00 less than the 4.2's, is there really ANY question which to get?

<<The v2-400 has been discontinued. The upgraded version has been released, but is currently
back ordered until the end of this month. It is the 4.1 system. The 4.2, I
think, is a much better system, especially for the price. I would go ahead
and take advantage of the deal.

Where can the 4.1's (NOT the v.2-400's) be found for $75 less?

Let's keep everything straight here.

2.1 -- ~$180-$200
v.2-400 -~$250 - discontinued
4.1 -- $300 - backordered
4.2 -- $300 - two 2.1 sets -- special deal.

They sure gave you some good info apoppin. That was sarcastic. So what set should I buy, should I get the v2-400's from best buy, the new 4.1 one backorder or the dual 2.1, 4.2 setup? I listen to music play games, and watch DVD's, but I am not an audiophile. I can't say for sure, but i will prolly not notice the differance in midrange from the discontinued model and the new 4.1's unless it is a mjaor change. I don't need a headphone jack or the MP3 jack really, so that is not much of a factor, if I do go with one of the newer sets, that will not be the reason. I just wish i coul here these new ones, before i decide, plus I just think the second sub would be cool as hell. Why do you keep saying the 2.1 deal is a scam and then say to get it apoppin. Do you think it is a good setup.

I can't believe you guys are actually asking me.

I used to be an audiophile. In fact, at one time I had stacked (2 pairs) Klipsch La Scalas (equal to the corner placed Klipschorns with folded-horn woofers, Huge speakers - my neighbor a block away asked me to turn them down whenever I played "Dark Side of the Moon" especially the Heartbeat which sounded like a piledriver - it rattled his windows).

Here's my take: Klipsch is way backordered and has overstock on the 2.1's. Put together a 2 x 2.1 system for a good price - it definitely sounds good - and take off the pressure (this is called a marketing ploy). The only disadvantage I can see is the extra sub box and two sets of controls. I doubt that 25 watts to each satellite will make a noticeable difference because the system is so efficient.

The 4.1 are a more compact system - 1 sub and one set of controls. No problems with placement of the woofers - no fumbling with 2 sets of controls.

Personally - for me - I am going to wait. I just need some good 'boom-boom-tink-tink' for my DVD movies and games (if you want a real audiophile home-theater system it will cost many hundreds more). Eventually the 4.1's will become widely available (possibly discounted) and the old v.2-400 will probably get "blown-out" at real bargain prices.

Wanting and desiring the latest RIGHT NOW is our worst enemy. "Patience, grasshopper." I figure I got along with my horrible Cambridge Soundworks speakers for over a year, a few more weeks won't matter . . . You guys do what you like.

it takes 10x the wattage for something to be twice as loud as something else. the 4.2 sat's have a little more than half the wattage of the 4.1's; therefore, the difference is only 2-3dB at their max volumes.

Hehe...well I ordered both the 4.1's and the 4.2's. :D I guess I'll just play both of them and decide for myself (As in personal preference). And then I'll probably sell one or just put on on another computer. :D
