Klinux Rocks!

I know it's been said many times before, but Klinux Rocks! 😀😀

I finally had the chance (and reason) to try it today. As I made a boot diskette, I decided to test it on my P3 750 laptop. I booted, followed the few simple directions, and it came up, recognized my nic, found my dhcp server, and found the gateway server. 🙂

I setup the DNETC client and away it went. 🙂

I was getting 2.10MKeys/s as compared to the 2.08MKeys/s in WIN95B with nothing else running.

WOW! 😀😀

Now I'm off to setup about 10 HP Vectras in the IT room that recently had their hard drives wiped in preperation to being disposed/sold. Guess what I will be installing and running until time to ship them off? 😉😉

Now I want to go build a bunch more nodes to my rack at home just to run Klinux! 😀

BTW, For those that don't know what Klinux is, go here: Klinux FAQ & Download link

Kilowatt,
When it comes to Klinux, you ARE superior! 😉

Poof,
Don't I wish! 😀 The HPs are mostly P233s. Klinux will be a great way to run RC5 until they are shipped out. 🙂

I do have 4 spare Compaq P3 733s that I may just run Klinux on instead of WIN95 if Klinux will recognize the nic. 🙂

I second the kudos!

Couple weeks back, I built a Duron 650@893 to replace a production system. The plan was to swap the HDD in after hours. For burn-in/testing, Klinux fit the bill and worked GREAT! Made for easy PhF'ing. 😉

Kilowatt is the man!

Osmo.
My Stats

It is the King of little distros.🙂 One of my nodes just passed 80,000 blocks without a reboot, and I have several others in the 70k+ range. These are all overclocked, and no hard drives so it just runs in RAM.

This is one stable little puppy.

I concur, Klinux rules. 😀

I had it going on a little oll pentium for several months until yesterday when Ameren/UE decided I didnt need power for an hour or so :frown:

I think Kilowatt should be recognized and promoted to... huh? - oh... never mind looks like it's already been done... 🙂

I second, third, and forth the great Klinux and the great job Kilowatt did on it! 😀😀

A "special" Mooooooooooo to Kilowatt! 😀

Congratulations on that Elite 😀 You deserve it for many things not just Klinux (which is a brilliant effort just by itself) 😀😀😀😀

/me needs to stop by Kilowatt's new shop so I may bow in his presence.

It's nice to have a fellow TA member so close by, not to mention a great little computer shop. 🙂
