Klinux question

I downloaded Klinux, put the image on a floppy, booted to it, configured the client by putting an email address in ( TA_SETI@hotmail.com )and changed the order to RC5,OGR,DES,CSC. I then started the client. I then get an error message "cannot resolve euro.v27.distributed..."it tries to do this a couple of times and then starts a random something. So, does anyone know what this is, or do you need more info? Also, any help with how to configure the rest of these options would be cool. I have 2 computers ready to go as soon as I get a couple of NICs, which are in the mail.

Sounds like you use the dhcp enabled version, and it cannot get an ip to join the network. I had the same problem. Try maybe with the fixed ip klinux distro, and set the ip manually.

you are right that I'm using the dhcp version. When it boots, it seems to detect the network settings ok. It gets an IP address from the dhcp server. I get the same message if I use proxy.anandtech.com

It is probably a DNS issue. Try manually configuring it with the DNS servers for your ISP, or using the IP address of the keyserver, rather then the name. For Dnet that would be 209.98.32.14.

Thanks, Russ.
That did the trick. As soon as you said a DNS issue, that rang a bell. DNS is disabled on roadrunner. After I set autofind keyserver to no & entered the IP address of the server, it worked fine🙂

Yeap, if you read the help page, it says you need to manually run "netconfig" to get outside your local LAN.
Since everybody's ISP is different, I can't put in static DNS info.
Nothing I can do there.

Enjoy it. 🙂
