They are 3 piece .....

This has me pretty excited. I spent all my damn money on a nice reciever and really nice fronts because most of my source was just music, but I was missing out on the DD and DTS tracks on DVDs and tv.

For $20 this is amazing. I have nice sub so all these need to do is keep up on their high frequency response and we are in business....

so once again....how do they sound?

From audioreview

Crap. Absolute crap. Avoid it like the plague. I have yet to see a KLH product that warrents it''''''''s minimal price. If you want some bang for you buck BIC''''''''s are good, personally Axiom Audio is my current favorite.

Not to go into much depth about these speakers, since they don''''''''t deserve any sort of critical evaluation....they are cheaply made and sound like it. Sound has no imaging, is coloured, sounds muffled, and has very poor frequency response. To top it all off, they seem to be difficult to drive (lots of wattage needed).

The previous review had it pretty much covered. I got these for free with my reciever and even free isnt worth the pain you'll go through listening to these. These are simply awful, and the fact that they charge $100 dollars for them normally blows my mind. There is absolutely no range, I think my speaker phone sounds better

EDIT: 🙁

crap...for reason i'm still tempted to try these out...$20 isn't that much for surround sound vs. just stereo....

The cheap DIY speakers you can build at parts express are looking nice but out of my budget right now....

I can't comment on the center channel speaker because I don't have it..but I do have the two surround speakers. Got them for $20 last year. Seems Best Buy sells this package with or without the center channel pretty regularly. The two surround speakers are ok for the price especially if used in a mid to small size room. Put them in a large living room and you won't be able to hear them.

The old addage applies here: "You get what you pay for". These do make for excellent desktop computer speakers though.

just my 2 cents.

I have this set. BB gave it away free with the purchase of my receiver.

The center channel is crap, no doubt about it. And the others are better than nothing for rear speakers... Not by much, though.

I definitely wouldn't use these for front speakers.

I was thinking of getting this package, I currently have this KLH center channel speaker. I don't if it is the same one in the package, but I don't think so. I got it open box at BB and it sounds ok, not the greatest, but I only paid $20.00 for it and it was well worth the price. I have no noticable muffled sounds, distortion or anything. I was going to get this package just for the surrounds, $20.00 is about my price range currently.

I currently have this KLH center channel speaker

That's a different center channel speaker than the one offered in this topic's speaker package. It's a three way speaker, and I agree that it's actually pretty nice for the money.
