Has anyone else noticed a sudden resurgence of the KLEZ virus? I was sent it maybe 20 times 3 weeks ago, today I got the infected email 6 times. :disgust:

Yeah, I've received it several times over the past few weeks. Luckily Norton caught it each time.

Wow. It hit me all at once then I didn't get any for +- 2 weeks. When I told my mother she had a virus she got offended. Then she updated her DATs for the 1st time in 9 months and found out she had two.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat.

Yahoo Mail is nice enough to filter virus infected attachments, but Earthlink lets them pass through. I'm averaging about 10 of these messages a week, all of them from people that I've never heard of.

The ones lately don't have an attachment per se. The seen to include an HTML document which I don't try to open. It's not listed as an attachment but is in the email. The email says something in broken english: like this is my first game...... the email is about 164 k in size.

I wish sircam would fire back up again. I actually enjoyed recieving an unfinished word document, spreadsheet, or other peek into the personal life of a random person every day. It's easy to strip the virus off and view the file safely.

I'm getting them from my Dad. I keep reminding him not to open strange attachments. Oh well....

Problem is that it forges the "from" header so it may not actually be coming from your dad, but actually someone HE knows who has his name in their address book.

A dude in my office was working on an employee's personal laptop which had it on there....he snapped it on the network (WHY?!?!?!?!) and pretty quickly I'm getting warnings from stations all over the network that Klez is running rampant.
Stupid Klez...
Stupid coworkers :)
It took me about 3 hours before I finally figured out that the culprit was one cubicle away!
