Can anyone shed some light on the KINGWIN ABT-1050MM 1050W?

I googled around for reviews and didn't really find anything. However I find it at a very low price for such a high rated wattage. It also has some decent amperage listed although its 6 12v rail design makes me a little unsure.

Info on Kingwin, the original manufac/design of the PSU, and if its a sparky smoke bomb waiting to happen would be appreciated. 😛

Note that I'd be looking for it to be stable/reliable/not fry anything and I would have no intention of putting more than, lets say 850w on it @ load.

Edit: It seems to share some similarities with the XION AXP Lan-Party Edition AXP-1000R14HE 1000W from what I can tell, but I could be wrong.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. There was a SevenTeam 850w for 90$ on newegg for awhile but it went back up in price. Modular, active PFC, 80+, it was great. I doubt it'll go on sale like that again though, because fate likes to fuck with me. So I figured for 110$ on the egg or like 100$ somewhere else, it isn't a bad PSU.

OP: What do you plan on powering? I ask because while a lot of folks THINK they need 750+ watts, very few folks actually do. The Kingwin is by no means a top tier model, so while it might be rated really high, you can't be sure it will actually deliver that. Case in point, there's another thread floating around here regarding a Diablotek 1050w reviewed that literally blew up when the reviewer tried to use HALF the rated wattage.

I guess what I'm trying to say is there is a reason it's so cheap. You would be better served getting a lower rated quality unit if stability is what you want.

If you don't need 1050 watts, you would rest easier knowing you have a quality unit at lower ratings. If you DO for some reason need anything close to 1050 watts, your rig would be very expensive and I doubt you'll want such a cheap PSU holding it up. Start by giving us your specs and if the price of the Kingwin is your budget, we can go from there.

In all honesty, I'd forget that Kingwin and look for a good quality 750W power supply. The Antec TP-750 is an excellent choice, esp. given its price. (Seasonic built, based on their M12D.)
