Drive uses the Sandforce 2281 controller and is similar to any cheap Sandforce drive like the OCZ Agility 3, Corsair Force 3 or Intel 330.

It's still a very good deal, and I might be wrong but I think the Intel 330 is quite a bit faster than this drive.

Please define "quite a bit faster." If you mean "the synthetic benchmark number is bigger" then it might be. If you mean "makes a difference in the real world..."

4K-64Thrd is also 60Mb faster for the Intel 330.

The sequential read difference is kind of significant, the other ones not so much. As for real world difference? Probably not noticeable unless you are transferring large files from one fast SSD to another.

BTW, the Intel 330 numbers I referenced are from my drive and are probably slow as my drive is pretty "worked."

Bought the V200 (not the V+200) 120Gb version from Staples for $79.99+tax, B&M price.

Moved from a 5.9 to 7.3 Windows 7 system rating. Would have loved to get the V+200 (2x faster) for the same price.
Looks like I'll return this since there are better deals at NE .

Please re-read that review. It was on a V200, which is completely different from the V+200. That + in there makes all the difference in this instance.

The V200 uses a Jmicron controller. For anyone who have been interested in SSDs since before Trim, Jmicron was notorious for SSD controllers with spectacularly lousy performance degradation.

The V+200 uses the exact same Sandforce 2281 controller that is found in the Intel 330, Intel 520, OCZ Vertex 3, OCZ Agility 3, Kingston HyperX 3k, Corsair Force 3, Corsair Force GT and a lot of other drives on the market. All the drives using this controller will perform similarly, with any differences coming from the NAND used with asynchronous being the slowest, then synchronous, then toggle being the fastest. And by "slowest" and "fastest" I mean measurable with benchmarks, but for most people not really noticeable in day-to-day usage.

But the V200? Yeah, it is slow enough that some people actually can tell a difference when using it versus much faster drives.
