BB still has Kingston Technology 256MB PC2700 DDR DIMM Memory on the shelf for $19.99 AR - but the box states this memory is not compatible with doule channel systems.

I thought as long as your MOB supports it and you have two sticks of ram it would work ???

Right there, I've got enough pc2700.

I've got a new motherboard from intel, the D865GBF, P4 3.0ghz chip,
and I can run dual channel with my 2 512MB samsung 2700 DDram.
I don't know if that statement is true for all motherboards.

not trying to stir things up, just wondering what/who says you can't use 2700 for dual channel.

EDIT: after reading my post, I just thought about it, were you guys saying that the kingston memory can't be used for dual channel unless its 3200 and above or was it just a blanket statement ?

i picked these up at bestbuys for $95 - $25 MIR = $70
started up at 320mhz and 2.5 4-4-8 (4)
i set it at 400mhz and 2.5 3-3-7 (4)

increased performance and runs smoothly, (tested with Sandra) anyone found faster CAS settings?
for 2.5 and 400mhz i thought it was a pretty good deal
very interested in CAS timings from any of you who've tested.

btw im on a P4 2.4 HT & Asus P4P800 Deluxe

Just got back from Bestbuy and took at look at the Kingston Technology 2-Pack 256MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM DIMM Memory. The pack has a see through window and I got a chance to read the white label on the RAM and it was something along the lines like this, KVR400AK2/512R

When you guys purchased the twin pack, did the white label on the RAM print KVR400AK2/512R cause as far as I know, Kingston print the size of the module on the white label for every RAM that I've gotten. Could they be packaging 1Gb or RAM in the 512MB kits?? LMK if I'm wrong. Was tempted to pick up one to try but at 149.99, I'll need to confirm if Kingston had marked those modules correctly.
