I want to get a 512mb pc2700 stick. What is the best for overclocking for best price?

Kingston HyperX 512mb ddr cas 2 - 80.50
Kingston ValueRam 512mb ddr cas 2.5 - 65
Samsung 512mb ddr cas 2.5 - 77

Should I just get the Kingston value ram ~ it's real cheap or is the hyperX worth it?

Get the Kingston HyperX pc3000 from ExcaliberPC. It is definatley worth it. Most people are getting 200MHz fsb with Cas2-2-2-5.

i dunno if you can say MOST people... i can run mine at 192 @ 2-2-2-6 ... no matter how many volts i put into the board (vdimm and vcore) it won't let me pass memtest86 at 200 mhz...

then again i do have an 8rda+ and i know that the vdd voltage may be the problem why....

but either way, i recommend the hyperx as well

The Kingston Value RAM I bought recently has Samsung memory chips on it. I dont overclock, so I could careless whether or not I get 200 MHz out of my RAM. Its like this, if I want more performance, I buy it :) I use Kingston and Mushkin memory. And dont forget heat spreaders from Thermaltake :)

Yeah, those heat spreaders sure do a lot

You do realize that the majority of the Thermaltake products are for show and offer little to no performance/heat advantage. Heatspreaders have a tendency to lock in heat....

i dunno about the others, but i agre with the guy above me
[system] ram doesnt seem to get all that hot to warrant heatsinks...unless you pump 2.9v+ thru it, then it MIGHT i think

most often its for show
