how can this stuff be so cheap when NewEgg and other sites are selling it for more than twice the amount? I want to order some but just want to make sure i'm getting the real stuff, not something else.

Newegg has never had deals on the hyperX line, and if I'm not mistaken Outpost has been the only one to significantly discount it. In fact when they discounted it to $170 at one point, newegg was still around $250 or more.

It's the real stuff....got a set last week and it came in the Kingston HyperX retail package and all. All its stickers, chips, etc., were proper. Every interrogative piece of software that checks the memory shows it as what it is advertised. Runs great.

I'd be careful. Rebate says must be postmarked within 14 days of purchase. If backordered, the 14 days might pass by before it's delivered.

I got these last year when they were about $100 a stick for 512MB. It's good memory but there's no way it is CAS 2 at 400mhz. Mine defaults to CAS 2.5 and it's not stable at CAS 2 at high speeds. A few others that left reviews at Newegg report the same thing.

Well, mine shipped on the 16th and is out for delivery today. I ordered it on the 13th, at about the same time as the post about having 187 on backorder, so it looks like they got a bunch in.

To the above poster, if it's not stable at CAS 2 then IMO, they are defective(since they are listed on Kingston's website, as CAS 2) and should be replaced. You should contact Kingston, as they have a lifetime warranty on them.

Could you report back here on the speed you're able to get out of it?

The deal is over and the OP doesn't have to babysit the thread. If its dead it helps to edit the title to say so, but sometimes people have a life outside AT. ;)

I have them running at the advertised specs 2-3-2-6(Turbo game mode) and so far so good. No issues at all, but then again, I have yet to really push them.

Good RAM, just mine doesn't seem to overclock very much. I'm going to have to vDIMM mod my motherboard to give these things more juice.

My experience with this has been pretty rockey. I still can't get this ram to meet the timings specced out by Kingston. Might have to RMA it
