I just finished a new build and just wanted to try out Windows 7, and well I encountered this strange problem with the said memory stick. The stick works fine if I just read files out of it, however writing into it is just not working. It's extremely slow on writing and it will almost always disconnect if I try to copy large files (like 100+ MB files).
For sure the stick is not faulty or anything because it works fine on XP, Vista and Mac OS. Only on Win7 it kept on crapping out. And oddly enough if I tried to plug the stick onto one of the USB port on the back, Windows said that the stick is operating at USB 1.1 only. Thing is I have a Hauppauge 950Q HD tuner that works off another back USB port and it works just fine so far.
Anyway system spec is AMD AthlonII X4 620 on Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H, and the Windows is the 64-bit OEM version (it's currently not activated - not sure if that makes any difference), also I'm quite sure it's not the motherboard that's faulty either because I can use another USB Stick (a Sandisk Cruzer), and it works perfectly fine both read and write.
So any suggestions? Tried to remove the drive using device manager and letting the system "reinstall" the driver, but that didn't help. Also I've tried formatting the drive twice (once on that Win7 system, the second is off a WinXp Pro system) didn't help either.
