Waowww!!! That was fast!!!.

Actually this modem was on sale for a couple of weeks and disappeared from the site last week..

I posted the deal when I saw it back in stock this morning. Probably they didn't have much left in stock... May be it will be back again, we'll see...

I would still like to hear the comments, if anybody had tried it though...

I was lucky to buy one when this deal first happened (that I know about) last month. It came within a couple of days and worked perfectly right out of the box in my HP Jornada 548! I was very surprised that is was so easy and little to setup, and for that price, it is a hot deal!

It seems to me that all this is, is a generic PC card adaptor plus
a standard PCMCIA modem. Is this correct or not?

If so, couldn't someone just buy a PC card adaptor (super cheap)
and use their own PCMCIA modem. (And PCMCIA ethernet card).
(And PCMCIA firewire card). (And PCMCIA SCSI card).

Or are there other issues with using these cards with a Jornada/
Ipaq/etc. that I am not getting?

No Kwad Guy..

It's a CF modem and a CF -> PCMCIA adapter..

I am not aware of any PCMCIA -> CF adapter available...

I bought the Kingston CF Ethernet card from ubid for $11 + $6 shipment last week. It also came with the same CF -> PCMCIA adapter...

You cannot use PCMCIA modem, ethernet, firewire etc. cards with iPAQ PocketPC unless you have a PCMCIA sleeve which costs more than $150 where CF sleeve is only $40..

Jornada comes with a build in CF slot...
