Go to Gateway's Accessory store. Add the Kingston 512MB DDR 2100 RAM into cart. Then add AOE 2. I added 2 DB15 USB JOYSTICK 8-INCH ADAPTER for $3.95 each. Total is $200.80. Apply $50.00 coupon, and AOE 2 comes with $20.00 mail in rebate, so $200.80 - $70.00 = $130.80. Or you can do this. Instead of the Joystick USB Adapters, add Asheron's Call which also comes with a $20.00 rebate, and then the total cost after coupon/rebate is $127.85. If you don't need the Joystick adapters, find some small accessory you need then. I am sorry if this was a repost. Oh yea, there was tax for me since Im in California. So, it would be $130.80 + tax.

btw, watch out for this product. while the description clearly states "SDRAM DDR" in the details of the product, it states "168 pin." maybe the people at gateway/necX are so stupid they think because it is called SDRAM DDR, it has 168 instead of 184 pins. might want to check the mfg stock number...

The reason why I thought it was a DDR RAM was due to the description:

"This 266Mhz PC2100 memory module has a Cas Latency of 2.5"

I dont know of any regular SDRAM that has the PC2100 266MHZ. Also, I've seen the term SDRAM DDR before. But as for the 168-pin, that is confusing to me too...

I see... Well, their info on RAM is so bad that it is hard to trust. The manufacturer's number checks out though:

The page is almost laughable, though. First they say it's CAS 2.5, then CAS 2. No where do they mention that it is 184 pin.

I clicked on their "module type" link - no where in that text do they discuss 184 pin (DDR) ram, so I guess they've got some catching up to do.

Good price I guess, but then again you can get the exact same thing at Newegg for $136 + $6 shipping without the rebate or uncertainty. Plus, the gateway store seems to charge a lot for tax so it would probably actually be more.

The ones from Newegg are OEM. Gateway's are never OEM memory. But none-the-less still a great price over at newegg.

Yep, that's true - plus you get the other stuff. I'ts a good deal, especially if you find something to go with it that you really want and which has a rebate.

I'm sure it's DDR, but they make me very nervous the way they've displayed it.
