I'm getting the Abit board, an intel 2.8, and either 3700 or 4000. Which would be better? I know 4000 is faster, but will that be too much for that board? Thanks

It will run at the mobo limitations unless you over clock, i dont see why it 'wouldnt work' tho.

No doubt someone will type an essay on the reasons why it wont work tho just to make me feel like an idiot

true. I don't know why they would make high-end ram that wouldn't work on a High-end motherboard. It says about the Ram that "Kingston's HyperX kits are designed and tested to meet dual channel architecture requirements such as those found on chipsets and motherboards like NVidia's Nforce2, and Intel's Canterwood and Springdale." The full name of the motherboard as listed on Newegg is "ABIT IC7-Max3, Intel 875P chipset for Socket 478 800MHz Canterwood ATX motherboard RETAIL". So I guess it would work.

you might want to read this if you plan to buy pc4000. you should also check the abit forums about the max3 board as well since this board does have a few issues.
