Kingston 1 GB Kit (2x512MB) PC3200 for $99 + Tax & Shipping AR

I stumbled across this deal while shopping for a RAM upgrade.

Kingston 1GB PC 3200 400 MHz 2x512MB Dual Channel Model #KVR400X64C3AK2/1G.
Outpost #: 3956148
ValueRAM's KVR400X64C3AK2/1G is a kit of two 64M x 64-bit (512MB) DDR400 CL3 SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM) memory modules. Total kit capacity is 1GB (1024MB). The components on each module include sixteen 32M x 8-bit (8M x 8-bit x 4 Bank) DDR400 SDRAM in TSOP packages. Each 184-pin DIMM uses gold contact fingers and requires +2.6V.

$139.99 - $40.00 Rebate = $99.00 + Shipping (& Tax if you are unfortunate enough to live in one of the few states they list, like I do.)

Sounds like double sided based on description but you know how unreliable Outpost is with their descriptions.

Thanks to OP for posting, this is a nice price.

EDIT: Rebate is only good for 1/9 - 1/11 so better get it now!

Thanks for the heads-up. Even with paying $12+ for tax and their fairly atrocious shipping charges, together which added $20 to the price, it's still a good deal getting a gig of pc3200 kingston ram for $120 after rebate. 🙂

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA it just keeps getting lower and lower.......i bought it on the first deal for 180 with a 40MIR and its so cheap now 🙁

Got It! I almost bought some for $130 (no rebater) earlier this week. Finally this was the deal to make me bite.

Ground shipping to NC was about $6.50, 2-Day air was $7.21 (I thought my $0.70 was worth it).

Probably not. I don't think I have seen Kingston with Micron chips before.

It might have Micron chips, since they use a variety of brands, but really doubtful you will get it.

Hi all, new here.

I just thought I'd share some information about this rebate. I ordered this yesterday (1/11) at 11:00AM. At that time the price was $99.99 AR and it was listed as in stock. I noticed a few hours later that it was $109.99 AR and listed as "call for availability." As of this morning my order was confirmed as being on back order. After reading numerous reports of this being Outpost's MO (having rebates needing to be mailed before possible arrival of product), I called Outpost to see when they expected more of the RAM to arrive. The rep told me they expect to have more by the 22nd. Well, since the rebate has to be mailed out by the 25th, this kind of screws me for the deadline.

This is where it gets helpful though. On a long shot, I called the Kingston rebate hotline to see what they had to say. The rep there was much friendlier and more helpful. She suggested that I send in the completed rebate form with my receipt and without the UPC. This gets me into the system and triggers the mailing of a postcard asking for the UPC. From there, I have 4 weeks to get them the UPC. Essentially this extends the rebate deadline by a month. So, assuming Outpost can actually get me my RAM in a month, I shouldn't have any problems getting the rebate. If not, all that was lost was $0.37 stamp and some time since I'll be canceling my order.

I thought anyone else in the same boat might appreciate this information and might want to hold on to their order a little while longer before canceling.

good tip

I wish it was still availaible

maybe it will come bavk with a rebate and at the same price on the 22nd

I finally got mine installed.

Unfortunately, one stick is bad and trashed my system.

It shows 382 Errors after just one pass of Memtest86 V3.2.

Anyone know if I would be better off contacting Outpost or Kingston?

I would like to get the one stick replaced if possible, rather than having to return the pair; plus, I already cut the UPC off of the box for the rebate, which might mess up an Outpost RMA.

I installed mine and it turned out to be bad as well. It threw thousands of errors in memtest86. I submitted a request for RMA via Kingston's website and they sent me an RMA number within a few hours.

Which UPC do they want? The one on the box or the label on the plastic case? The rebate form seems to say "UPC label." Has anyone ever done a Kingston rebate before?

I am pretty sure that the UPC code is the barcode on the bottom of the carboard box; I am sending the entire bottom flap.

I don't think the bar code on sticker of the platic case is a UPC, it has more than 12 digits.

UPC Code

I used the packing list as the "original reciept", as it had all the vital info.

Now I just have to wait and see if they actually pay the rebate; it is my first purchase at Outpost.com.

Also, you might want to run a memtest; at least two of us have had problems so far.
