IMDB review I read of it seems to view it as a rehash of Gladiator but with less plot. Not to say that it could be better.......

I'll wait for reviews. If it portrays Christianity in a bad light like Hollywood does I won't pay to see it. On the other hand, if it portrays muslims as the barbarians they are it should be awesome.

This movie looks terrible but I'll wait for the reviews. Despite the utter garbage films called Gladiator and Hannibal that he made, I still give scott the benefit of the doubt sometimes, though he hasn't done much beyond blackhawk down to assuage my worries about his decline in talent.

I simply can't stand orlando bloom in most of the roles he has had, but I do like some of the other actors in this. Then again, I liked the actors in troy and alexander too... which look like pretty much the same movie - though this does look to have somewhat better battle scenes.

Yeah sure the Crusaders are the good guys, more BS from hollywood.

CAIR (The Council on American-Islamic Relations) gave the movie a thumbs up. So, I doubt that it shows the Crusaders as the good guys.

What, you don't want to hear the truth?

WTF some of the scenes in the new trailer and TV spots look like they were lifted straight out of "Return of the King"!!! :|

[minus the trolls and orcs]

Exactly what I was thinking. The Christians we're downright wrong in what they did spreading their "religion" during the crusades. That cannot be argued. As long as it portrays the truth, that is what's important. But then again, your obviously not concerned with truth. Typical Christian attitude. "We can do no wrong."

My Muslim roommate is apprehensive about seeing the movie also. History books and media tend to spin the Crusades as some holy wear of the righteous Christians against the barbarous Muslims. They never bother to mention it was teh Christians who started the whole thing over money and trade routes.

Is Orlando Bloom only ever in Blockbusters and Award winning movies? He picks some good stuff.

I don't really care for Orlando Bloom.

The fact that he was in Troy doesn't help. 😛

I'll admit I am not as informed on the history of the Crusades as I am with most topics. However, I have a very low view os Islam.

The first thing Christians realize is that we do do wrong. Why do you think we ask Jesus to forgive us? Everyone is imperfect.

I don't agree that we should go around killing non-believers, but that doesn't mean I like muslims either.

Or that the muslims had encroached on Christian lands.

Get your absurd religious opinions out of this thread, please. No one wants to hear you evangelize. This is about a movie and not about your bigotted religious beliefs. Suffice it to say that christians were not necessarily the good guys with muslims as the bad guys, despite whatever redneck beliefs and preconceptions you have.

It won't spark anything except in clowns, and unlikely to be hisotorically accurate, though maybe it will be fun to watch, like Braveheart.

Jesus Christ people. It's only a fvcking movie made for the sole purpose of entertainment. You guys blow the smallest things out of proportion. Anyways, that movie looks sweet. I can't wait to see it. 🙂

action scenes look good, but the dialog looks really terrible. i bet liam neeson (sp?) steals the show, though. qui-gon rules.

A movie based on the Crusades automatically becomes a movie religious people will have something to say about.

This is exactly my take on the movie. Unfortunately dialogue and plot mean a lot to me, which is why I think it looks bad. Neeson steals the trailers, so it's probable he steals the movie. Especially from orlando bloom, whom I find a bit uncharismatic in action films.

Even people who haven't seen the movie yet choose to repeatedly state how bigotted they are against certain religions? I guess you are right, but that doesn't mean such statements are welcomed in any shape or form in the OT forum.

Why do you have a low view of Islam
