Of course the end is mass poverty in the US. But the politically correct left in this country has successfully made immigration a race issue to draw the line on emotion rather than logic or facts. Of course this is the same group that blames corporations for offshoring, so clearly they don't understand the basic logic that whether you export jobs for cheap labor or import cheap labor to do jobs, the end result is the same. Expecting them to have a rational conversation about immigration is futile.

Faced with this kind of massive willful ignorance, I take care of me and my own, fuck everybody else. They've made their choice and it's poverty.
They assume race because your "logic and facts" don't appear to be based in observable reality. America is wealthy, not poor.

So we are clear you think that people cross into Mexico from the US in the middle of the desert for completely legal purposes?:hmm:
What I think is that arbitrary laws that don't work should be reconsidered.

America is wealthy... let's freaking KEEP IT that way!

Exporting jobs and importing poverty is threatening.

Do you consider the borders on your property to be arbitrary?
Now I don't think you understand what arbitrary means.
Of course they are. And I'd be more than willing to reconsider them.. for the right price.

Why didn't the unregulated immigration of the past lead to an impoverished America?

Immigrants in the past were required to be self sufficient. A welfare state cannot support unfettered immigration.

They're not my facts, they're the facts that "liberals" themselves done on and on about.

American working class wages are dropping.

The rich get richer.

America is becoming a 3rd world.

They conveniently forget their own whining when it comes to immigration.

Ah, so you don't really consider them arbitrary.

If some Mexicans decided to start camping out on your property without paying "the right price" you would be pissed.

I would agree with Vic. They are pretty arbitrary.
I just want to make sure I'm not misunderstanding you.

The line of delineation separating two different countries from one another is arbitrary? As in "subject to individual will or judgment without restriction; contingent solely upon one's discretion"?

The border might not be arbitrary in the strictest sense, but God didn't draw it either.

Quite the opposite, a welfare state requires immigration. Somebody has to do the work. Your mistake is assuming that the immigrants are the primary beneficiaries of said welfare state. Not even close.

But if they did pay the right price, I'd be perfectly fine with it. Hence, arbitrary. Contingent on my discretion.

Wrong. You would be willing to sell part of your land if given a good reason(ie $$$).

Wow. So we need to allow illegal immigrants, so that poor Americans can suck the government teat? D:

Liberalism is truly disgusting.

No, I'd prefer less sucking on the government teat. Then we could use immigration to get wealthier, like we did in the past, instead of just trying to maintain the status quo.

Illegals crossing the southern border aren't "primary beneficiaries" of tax payer money? Of welfare?
