Kinesis Advantage for a Programmer?

I have another thread asking generally about gear advice for my soon-to-be career as a programmer. But I just came across this keyboard, so I want to ask about it specifically.

Should I get it? Does it help a lot with arm and wrist strain? Is there a better option?

Note: I already plan to switch to a quasi-DVORAK layout. I just tried it, then went back to QWERTY, and immediately realized the layout is far superior.

I already have carpal tunnel, so I'd like to prevent worsening it.

EDIT: My biggest fear is the width of the Kinesis. It makes your arm positioning near perfect for keyboard usage, but because your arms are forward (not turned inward) like they should be when keyboarding - your mouse hand will be turned too far OUT when mousing. Comments?
