kinda OT: "semi warm swapping with distributed nodes"

hello everybody! im doctor nick!

i have a question loosily based around distributed computing..... i have a few barebones systems (mb+cpu+ram+vd+mon+) but my only source of booting these nodes is one 48x cdrom... so i can only run one at a time (booooo!).. i know hotswaping is available to some systems.. but what about something id like to call "semi warm swapping"... lets say after i boot node a, i (while the systems running) unplug the ide to cdrom connection from node a and connect that same cdrom to node b and then boot b... or take an alternate route and disconnect both the ide and power connection from node a and return both in node b..... feasible?

hanks alot toys.

also... as you can tell, i am not a rich man....my floppy drive collection = 0

should work, if you boot off the cd, then copy the contents of the cd to a ramdrive, then run EVERYTHING from the ramdrive.... if the computer tries to access the cdrom, it will lock
