I've been to the doctor and all they say I have is a serious case of the flu.
Problem is that I will not stop coughing. No cough suppressant works.
Halls stopped working entirely yesterday.
I will NOT stop coughing for more than 15 seconds and they are violent coughs.
It's as if I have something down there but I don't. I cough up a ****load of phlegm in the morning that resembles a hair ball in size but right now I'm clean.
My dad dropped by and I had him go buy me some chlorospetic spray to see if numbing the area will reduce the body's reactions (coughing)
As to what has tried and failed:
-hot chocolate (stopped coughing for 5min
-halls (used to last for 3/4 of the lozenge and is now useless)
-tea (5min)
-oranges (first 10min, then 5min, now wears off immediately.I figured the acididy would would be bad but it actually fears very soothing)
The actual sensation is of back of the throat is of flesh that is very sensitive to air. breathing in through my nose sets it off. I was able to slather some Vicks-like stuff all over my chest and hide my head in my shirt which helped for about 15min. Then the cough became uncontrollable to the point of tears.
if I get worse I will go to the hospital but for now anyone have any ideas?
edit: also, I just had two oreos. those things make me stop coughing for at least 10-15min. seriously.

chloraseptic spray numbed the back but it still feels like it is virbrating. gonna got to the hospital.
update:
so they said it was Post-nasal drip to an extreme extent. Put it this way, when I got to the urgent care area they gave me two advils and I nearly choked on them. THey gave me some Robitussin with Codine, some other pills and recommended a regime of salt water gargling and saline nose spray. I've done it all and still feel like sh!t but less so than last night. It seems to be keeping the coughing at bay but just barely. When I do cough it is painful as hell and it is hard to stop.
This already fvked up christmas and looks like it will do the same with new years:|
