Kind of a difficult video card decision....

Hi all, just looking for advice. I have an AGP motherboard with an evga 6600GT in it right now, and I've been pretty happy with it. My one problem though is that it leaves some textures missing in World of Warcraft, which is mostly what I play. I've messed with the settings and sometimes have gotten them back, but then they'll go missing again. Right now I have about $250 to spend on a better video card, and I've been thinking of getting a 6800, but I've heard they're not that much better than the 6600GT. Plus the AGP cards are getting hard to find. But I would *maybe* have my textures back and *maybe* a performance improvement. Would that be worth $200-some dollars for an AGP video card though? I also have an Abit motherboard with PCI-Express sitting around and could probably rebuild my computer and put a Pci-express card in, but last time I tried this motherboard with a 6600GT it wouldn't run WoW at all. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas on this conundrum? Or should I just wait until I can get a Pci-express motherboard I know will be good AND a new pci-express video card?

If you sell your 6600GT and pick up around $ 100 buy a 6800GT or x800xl and you will be nearly twice as fast.

Reguarding the textures, which drivers have you tried?

That's an idea, I hadn't thought to sell the old one. o_O And I've been updating the drivers for a year now and havn't had any luck. If I turn down all the graphics in WoW they will appear, and I thought I had it down that it had something to do with the Trilinear filtering, but then they just disappear again. It's mostly wings on harpies and windserpents.

go for an x800 dude , it ll blow the 6600, and your fps will be up and them x800 range were good cards l own 4 two pro's one xt , and an xtpe, get one your whole game experience will dramaticly improve, colours and pollys , texture bit map / bump etc etc awsome cards, l own an 7800gtx and so far its the only card to outdo it 1 card on 1 card, and visualy the 7800 looks nicer with the partical count and its shader tech is wikid but thats as far as the improvements go, , so an x800 pro or better will juice the pc nicely... and look awsome...
go for it !
