Kimchee?

My condolences to your car.

Perhaps you might consider removing all the carpeting and everything where it spilled and steam clean it. The leave it to hang in the sun for a few days.

Then repeat if you still smell it. There are some strong commercial deoderizers that might also work.

I haven't had kimchi since Hawaii (almost 2 years). I miss that stuff (but I will be back in Hawaii for a few months it looks like starting in January).

rip out all the carpeting in the trunk and take out the spare.. i'm sure it dripped down there too... then take a hose and clean everything out and use a shopvac to take all the water out... then wash the carpet... then air it out and it should be ok... if those guys in pulp fiction can clean out brains from the upholstery, you can clean up a lil kimchee in your trunk

For the unenlightened:

Kimchi is a Korean dish, basically pickeled, fermented, spicy vegetables. There are many different types (e.g. cabbage, cucumber, raddish, green onions). Kimchi is a staple of Korean meals and has origins which may date back 3000 years. The most reliable sources have origins around 2000 years ago. Kimchi is nutritious, providing dietary fiber, a source of vitamins A & C, and minerals. Kimchi is very...fragrant shall we say. To some the smell is offensive. To me, the smell is a reminder of home.

Use some strong alcohol. Like the kind the hair salons use. Pour it into your trunk, maybe remove the carpeting first. That should take care of the smell pretty good. Be careful though, it is, I belive somewhat saline, so it can cause electrical shorts. I believe it discolors fabrics too.

I hope you're married or have a second car or you won't be dateing anyone with that one any longer. Would you believe it was the only Care Package that was received (when I was going through basic training in Ft Bennings, GA) that nobody wanted to share. :p Usually everybody in the same platoon got a piece of every Care Package received but I was the one of lucky exception.

But that was in the army, out here in the real world w/ real girls, you might try learning to be a celibate. :)

maybe bleach..... or fire. fire would work. When my GF spills kimchi juice in her kitchen, she burns toast until the smell goes away. must be a korean thing. maybe hook up a toaster in your trunk. just make sure there's no fire.... unless that's part of the plan.

I have an idea...pour about five gallons of gasoline in the trunk, light it and burn the smell away :)

I like Kimchee smell, as long as it's not on someone's breath :D
I think the steam cleaning idea will work best.

Good luck, dude.

This reminds me of one of those Good thing- Bad thing moments of my life. My wife make 12 quarts of pickled green tomatos, (This was bac thing, I was not sure I wanted any thing to do with them,) Then Good thing... the shelf holding 12 quarts of pickled green tomatos came off of the wall, survivle rate 0%.... Bad thing.. having to clean up 12 quarts of pickled green tomatos mixed broken glass!
