We all know the story... I don't really care about right or wrong. Anyway, his new service, "Mega" was supposed to use the domain Me.ga, but Gabon Telecom took it away at the behest of the powers that be (read: US Gov & Big Content).
So he went and got a new domain in New Zealand instead.
Mega.co.nz. Read it out loud as one word. Irony? :whiste:

On Twitter, Dotcom announced New Zealand will be the home of our new website: http://Mega.co.nz - Powered by legality and protected by the law. When Gabon shut down Me.ga, Dotcom blamed the reach of the US and Vivendi, as the Me.ga domain was provided by Gabon Telecom, a subsidiary of the Vivendi entertainment company.
