Kim Davis’s Anti-Gay Views Might Cost Her County Big Time

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/kim-davis-federal-motion_us_57e2faefe4b08d73b82f5a4d?section=&

On Monday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of Kentucky filed a motion in federal court asking for $233,058 to cover attorney’s fees and other legal expenses incurred during the lawsuit it brought last year on behalf of four couples ― two of whom are same-sex, while the other two are opposite sex― when Davis was refusing to issue marriage licenses despite the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 2015 ruling on same-sex marriage.

Whether or not Rowan County ends up having to pay for the Davis debacle, seeing the clerk’s views on same-sex marriage becoming quickly obsolete is perhaps the best comeuppance of all.

Equality and fairness?
How do you think this would end up under a Trump presidency?
Under a Trump/Pence US Supreme Court?
VS a Clinton presidency? A Clinton court?
Also considering the history of Mike Pence, and considering the history of what Trump stands for.

I think it fits right into the vision of Make America Great Again. GOP will have no problem screwing with gay rights.

CNN had the list of Trump's US Supreme Court justice possibilities.
If THAT doesn't scare crap out of people I don't know what would.
The only one not on the list was Ted Cruz. That is, not yet.
If anyone from the LGBT community or friends of dare not think a full US constitutional amendment banning SS marriage would be on the horizon should Trump become president, think again.
And after they get their amendment, then additional amendments addressing so called religious protections.

Ooh that's scary. Even if Trump were elected and proposed such an amendment, surely it would get the necessary number of states ratifying the amendment for it to pass. If you're trying to scare people with bullsh!t you might as well go full stupid and say Trump wants an Amendment to bring back slavery, that should really fire up the unenthusiastic base.

no way trump goes for that as an amendment.

he is far more likely to propose an amendment saying the first amendment doesn't apply at football games. that's basically a guaranteed win.

From the man who can't comprehend why you can't use nuclear weapons to kill, conceivably, millions of largely innocent people a proposal to reinstate slavery would seem almost quaint.

Trump wouldn't need an amendment, he would appoint justices who would keep rewriting the Constitution through interpretation like the Roberts court has been doing.
