Kilohertz

kHz but really doesnt matter

theres a difference between mHz and MHz however because the prefix milli and Mega share the same first letter, but since there is no 10^(-x) beginning with "k" it doesnt matter, it can only stand for kilo

i always use K to keep with the former notation, K, M, G, etc

That is a Scientifically Correct way of saying:

It's KHz, not kHz

and

It's MHz, not mHz.

also

it's GHz, not gHz

DAMN illustri, they asked you "what time is it?" Not "how do I build a watch?" 😛

WTF is mHz? I don't see any pratical use of it at all.

What practical use is there for decimeters? They exist all the same! ah!

You're absolutely right, Vertimus, there is no reason for a mHz, it was a poor example for a valid explanation.

Micheal D, theres actually a difference between "correct" and actual or practical use. What I described is the reason for the convention, but its important to know that BOTH kHz and KHz are used, and why case is important for some prefixes but not others.

No it's not. The correct prefix is a lower case k. Upper case K means nothing as a prefix.
