Killzone 2 question

Queasy

Moderator<br>Console Gaming
Now that I'm done with the DCUO beta, I finally started Killzone 2 last night in anticipation of Killzone 3. One question though - are the hitches in the graphics normal?

There have been several times through the first three missions so far where the game goes through these brief pauses where the game is obviously loading the level. There have been a couple of times where I thought the game locked up on me though before it started moving again.

Fortunately, this only happens during lulls in the action so it doesn't affect gameplay.

Just wanted to make sure there isn't something wrong with my disk.

(*) Well, it's really more of a detour.

If you are experiencing pauses while moving between firefights then yes this is normal. It's just the game loading as you suspected.

It's been a long time since I've played Killzone 2 but I don't think I ever had it pause for more than a couple seconds.

I only remember a pause if I was progressing really fast and the game could not load the level fast enough. But I played on the hardest difficulty so that rarely happened, it was slow going.

Yeah, I wrote up a series of preview/impressions articles already. Put up my last today. Just click on the "Console Gaming" link in my sig to see it and the others.

Thanks for the confirmation btw. I haven't seen this many brief pauses since Gears 1.
