Killzone 2 any good?

Is Killzone 2 any good? I'm just looking for a decent story and graphics (and possibly replayability). Don't care for multiplayer.

I'll just pick it up used probably.

I thought SP was fun for a play through. The story isn't amazing, but the graphics sure are. Honestly, though, SP is very lacking compared to MP...so it might not be your thing.

What about co-op?

there is no co-op.

multiplayer is fun. takes a bit to get used to. but overall prolly one of the best fps on the ps3./

Single player was enjoyable. Not the greatest campaign of all time, but fun enough (except for the very end). Multiplayer is a lot of fun. Might be hard to get into since most of the people playing now have probably been playing since the beginning but it's worth a shot.

I'd recommend KZ2 especially if you can pick it up on the cheap.

There is a demo for it....in fact I played it just last weekend. Pretty impressive if you like console FPSs. The Metacritic scores are very good.

yea, its a good game. i would would play it through on a harder setting but i am busy with demon's souls right now...

I didn't like it much. SP was a bit slow and I was really, really bad at MP so I never got to do anything cool.

it was a good substitute for modern warfare 2, but with mw2 around the corner, i don't see any reason anyone would pick this up now. if you're looking for a cheap fun, then i guess this will do.

I wouldn't buy MW2 on the PS3 anyway. I prefer to get exclusives on the PS3 and multiplatform titles on PC.

It's the best FPS on the PS3. It's probably in the top 5 best FPS EVER. But if you aren't going to do MP, you are losing 3/4's of the game. Gaming solo is silly.

I play games mostly for story/technical innovation. Most of my friends are not gamers so I never really got into multiplayer (except for 4-8 player Winning Eleven sometimes).

yeah, the very end caused me to ship it back to gamefly unfinished... frustrated me to the point where I was just done with it

I read books mostly for story. You are in the wrong part of the store if you are buying games for story. If my friends are doing something else, I'm doing something else. Social interaction is healthy and necessary, playing games by yourself is not.

Lol I didn't say I stay inside and play single player games all day...I barely have time for games as it is which is why I can only play for like 1-2 hours in a WEEK so all I can really do is play for like 15-30mins...save game...then pick up later some time (kinda impossible to do with multiplayer games).

i know this may come as a shocker to you, but some people are different than you and have different interests than you.

man i wonder how these mario games did so well being single player, same with zelda. man, that is crazy.

and just because his friends plays video games and he doesnt, that means he doesn't get social interaction with his friends?

and please explain to me why playing games by yourself is not healthy, i would like to hear your explanation.

hmm, I wasn't too impressed with the demo so I passed this one up. Are the controls improved over the demo?

Oh yeah. It's been patched a few times.

I didn't know this. I assume we're talking about the controls' responsiveness. Do they feel quicker/ more responsive after the patch?

edit: I don't mean to rehash this whole debacle, but this was my only gripe when I first played the game. I'd love to have a reason to give it another go, because I did enjoy the story and graphics.

Pretty game... mechanics sucked for me because I'm to accustomed to 360 gaming. 1/2 way through the game I was still wasting all my grenades because I am used to the top button being grenades & the bottome the trigger. Ughhhh. That's why I almost always play shooters on the 360... I've trained my brain 😛

they patched the controlls. u have options now on how u want it to feel

What do you mean? The demo feels sluggish but how can you tweak that, exactly?

the controls were suppose the feel 'weighted' since so many people complained they add an option to make it more sensivity so the dont feel slow.

it helped, at least i thought. i hated the controls in the start then patch made them seem better.

JoPh, just to be clear, we're not talking about simply increasing look sensitivity right? They actually let you tweak the responsiveness and get rid of the perceived 'input lag'?

edit: nevermind. I didn't refresh the thread before posting. Thanks for clearing that up.

Where is your social interaction while you're reading books? Or is your teacher reading "See Spot Run" to you considered social interaction? Grow up.
