How'd you find shipping cost? I went through checkout and got * Shipping cost is determined after your order is packed for shipping and will be shown on your invoice.

I have about 12 of the BYD AAs available for anyone in the NYC (Manhattan) area, if anyone needs them and would be willing to pay cost, pm me.
As for MCM... shipping is 2.99 + actual cost if you order less than $50. and to the original poster of the MCM deal, thanks for the credit of my original post of this deal on phatw![]()

I once dealed with MCM but gave up. their 1800mah battery is even worse than panasonic 1200mAH. I use Maha charger to charge it and could only take 30 or 40 pictures (Panasonic 1200 can take more than 80 pictures. )

They should last at least 5 years, probably a lot more if you take care of them. Probably best to let them almost drain down before recharging. Use them a lot, they actually last longer that way.Originally posted by: Zclyh3
Damn...too many batteries. I just bought 80 AA at Fry's $8 after rebate. Besides, rechargables don't really last that long.
C batteries are a little bigger than Sub C, is my impression. I had a drill that I think used sub C's, 5 of them.Originally posted by: Rokan
No 9-Volts
Anyone know if you can remove the tabs off of the 'C' batteries and use them like normal batteries? Also, what's the difference in the 'C size' and 'sub C size' batteries?

Battery Charger + Batteries for all 5 main types (AAA, AA, 9v, D, C)
This is a decent deal far as I checked. The 4D (7500 mAh), 4 C (4000 mAh) alone are a decent deal for the $69. Thomas Distributing has the 3500 mAh C's for $15.97 for a 2 pack, and 7500 mAh D's for $24.97 for a 2 pack, granted they are the Powerex brand. Throw in the extra batteries and charger, and if you're looking for more than just the AA & AAA batteries, it's a pretty good deal.
I want my 4 for my bicycle headlight. I have 4 NiCds in there now, but they are almost 5 years old and I figure they are nearing the end of their usefulness. This is my 3rd set. I don't know if these NiMH's are as amenable to my charger as the NiCd's but they have soldering tabs which is great for me. I often have problems with the batteries making contact and if I solder everything up, that will be a thing of the past.Originally posted by: xwave558
Actually, C Size Batteries are ideal for applications such as torches, cycle lamps, toys and so on..These kind of NIMH batteries will remain in full voltage during 75~80% of the usage cycle.
Why do you want that? To prevent shorts? In the past I have actually soldered to the end contacts of NiCads. Of course, I was concerned that the heat would screw up the batteries, but I seemed to do OK. Not the preferred way of doing things. If these batteries are good quality, it would be worth it for me, even, I suppose, if I can't think of good uses for the other 6/10. $20 for 4 good quality rechargeable C batteries with solder contacts would be a winner for me. If I can find someone to buy some off me, so much the better. However, I'm concerned about the quality based on some of the posts I've read in this thread. I have only read maybe 15% of the posts so far, though. Does anyone have experience with the C batteries (I think they are all NiMH, none NiCd)?Originally posted by: clickdog
soldering is not a big probelm. anyone know how to get shrink plastic ?
