Someone is selling one on ebay, is this for real, does it truly accelerate UDP packets?

Don't bother, get a quality Intel nic for 20 bucks and go.

Yeah. Technically, it offloads some processing from the CPU. But CPUs are sooooo faaaasssstttt... so it doesn't matter. (Way back when, gaming NICs were supposedly able to offload enough processing from the CPU to get you an extra FPS or two... not so much anymore.

And it won't effect your network latency by more than a tiny fraction of a millisecond. (It might improve latency on your local network, but LAN latency is <1ms. Ping to a remote server is usually 30-300ms. So there's not a lot of improvement to be had.)

I have a killer nic in my pc, and yes it does improve the latency by a few ms over the default windows stack which as some reviewers have pointed out is because they basically dump data to the wire as fast as they can. On the downside, it uses a LOT more cpu than my intel.

At the end of the day, i gave it a go since it was built into my motherboard, but after using it for a bit i changed over to the built in intel.
