Hi im looking for advice on wether the killer nic m1 card would be worth buying as i want the most out of my pc for gaming and it has been suggested to buy this, Is this worth buying or is there other ways to speed up online gaming?

IMO, dont rely on a gimmicky $250 network card to make you better at computer games. as for your original question, define "speed up"...server response time, frames per second, etc?
 
xWilDx, what are you expecting that it would do for you?

Gaming through the Internet is Not slowed down because of a Network Card when using Home computer with regular connection.

No, not for gaming, but if you want to game and torrent at the same time and are willing to pay $200 for that, then buy it. But otherwise, there are plenty of other things to buy for $200.

No. Just as an example, I had a friend who used to play in the old CS days when broadband was starting to blow up. Everyone had 1.5 - 5 Mbps and a new computer. He was broke and had an old machine that barely played the game and a 56k connection; yet he owned everyone. Nowadays, the average setup will be more than enough, all about the player.

BTW. One can of Brew slows down the human Reaction Time ten times more than any little gain presumably achieved by expensive hardware.

sorry xWilDx the networking section can be a little more abrasive then other area's of the forums. What can we say, most of us are engineers and engineer wannabe's. It is common knowledge that engineers should never see the light of day nor be given any opportunity for interpersonal interaction, except for their engineer wives and future engineer children, who will undoubtedly suffer the same fate.

Don't let it discourage you...

that being said...if you waste you're money on that hunk of junk I've got a nice gentleman in Nigeria I'd like you to meet he can make you rich fast 🙂.

OP: If you want to get something good for whatever reason, go out and buy a good Intel NIC, not as many meaningless buzzwords, but quality hardware, and considerably cheaper to boot.

Heck yeah, Worms got me through so many college classes.
 
Well your right its not really woth the money so i'll invest it into noob school or better yet a nice graphics card, or a locking nut for my porsche 911 carrera
