Sounds to me like the guy that sold it was trying to rip you off with the faulty card not realizing that evga is awesome and you are getting a new one. Jokes on him. Enjoy the new card!

RMA shipping is a PITA for me (east coast to Cali)... I pretty much end up paying close to 20 bucks for any RMA. So a company that pays for RMA shipping is definitely going to get and keep my future business.

I know what you mean, I'll be RMAing from Canada, that adds more to the costs.

Well, as I've said before, I doubt that because that seemed properly sealed, but if it is true, it's even dumber, as the card was shipped from the EVGA on December 20 (according to their registration), which means it probably arrived at the guy's place around January 1 (taking minimal time at the retailer and short shipping times to the retailer and to the customer). I bought the card January 30. So it was still in the 30 day replacement with the retailer...
Oh well. I don't care. EVGA is great. They don't usually send pre-paid shipping slips (according to their RMA process page). I guess they realized they had a real issues with the Classifieds, and unlike most, decided to own it. I find that incredible (isn't it sad we find it amazing companies respect their own policies?).
I'm just happy they are so great. That was one of my reasons to be calm about buying from someone, hearing how great they were. I'm glad it turned out to be true.

Yeah, EVGA doesn't typically pay for RMA shipping, but they typically DO offer exceptional customer service. I've never had anything but A+ experiences talking with them and getting products RMA'd or stepped-up.

If I plan to buy something, and EVGA makes one, they always get my business. I currently have 5 of their motherboards and too many of their video cards to count.

Another update: Just received my RMA back. Got a brand new card (at least it's in nylons).
Don't have time to play with it now, but will install it later and report back.
