Killer attacks a nursery with a knife and bikes away

Reminds me of a case where in Japan a mentally ill person went into a school, and threw 6 students (like grade 8 I believe) out a second story window killing two.

As for the gun argument, doesn't matter in the USA. A mentally ill person can get a gun legally such as what happened in Virginia Tech shooting, then you have the massive amount of fire arms floating around unaccounted for so even if all guns where banned the crooks wouldn't be affected for a number of years. This guy just happened to be stupid as well as mentally ill luckily for all involved.

I'm Belgian and I can respond to that. The staff in the nursery were all women. One of them died trying to stop this wacko, multiple other were also wounded when they attacked the slasher in defending the children. A 6 month old and a nine month old baby were killed.

The slasher also had to be taken to the hospital. Apparantly the police was not very "nice" when they arrested the guy. He's refusing to say anything during his interrogation and apparantly he's just laughing all the time with the investigators. He was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs and he has no criminal record.

Several other women were also stabbed when they tried to shield the children against the attacker, one is still in intensive care. Several other women were also stabbed when they tried to shield the children against the attacker, one is still in intensive care. The only people who were in the nursery when this happened were the employees, all women who did everything they could to protect the babies.

Does that mean live in a bubble with a M60 locked and loaded? No. But I would at least have mase/pepperspray or a small handgun that can be accessed in emergencies.

You have to understand a bit about what it's like to be a conformist authoritarian.

The United States plays a game of ego. You get to be somebody of value if you play by the rules dictated by the authoritarian culture, and are lucky, that is to say you have enough intelligence, lack too much testosterone to land you in jail, are able to muster sufficient self control, know the right people, go to the right schools, kiss the right asses, etc. and, as I said, are lucky. When you have done all these things and earn money you get to be among those who are in, those whose shit smells like roses.

Then you get to flatter and pat yourself on the back and bask in the glory of authority, which you have now become a part of. You become one of the good guys and you get to carry a gun. You get to be a part of the enforcement system. Your fat preened ego gets to feel special. I can save people from mad men because I am armed. I am very good.

When people waste their lives seeking the stupid prestige their culture offers, these folk demand a price, and the price is that you worship and obey them and their guns.
