I've never worked on a mac either...
Is there a jumper anywhere near the battery that looks like it might be a CMOS type jumper?

Though thank you 4Dogmom whoever you are because you said all the commands that can be used when something like this happens sorta. So I said what the heck and tried them! The 2nd one worked!
