KILLA MACHINE: Anyone knows a Radeon9100 PCI is going to fit in a Asus Pundit SFF?

I am seriously considering getting one with 2 radeon9100 PCI cards. And make a double widescreen flight simulator.

Would using 2 PCI graphic card take a performance hit on the computer greatly?

ANd of course to top it off, I would get a P4 2.5 and 2 GB of PC3200, 200 GB HD and as a upgrade, triple band wireless card in the PCMCIA slot and a DVD4x drive....


Droooling.

Also I was wondering whether anyone know I can custom order the Pundit from compusa..(going to make the trip there next week, will find out unless you guys do before then)

I had no idea what an Asus pundit was, so I searched for it. and holy cow! that thing is pretty sweet.

It would make a nice HTPC setup, because of the built in tv-out, dvi-out, spidf out and it takes 2 full size pci cards! Kinda wish I'd gotten this for my PVR now! :frown:

edit: btw, not sure if compusa will have it, but you can always use www.froogle.com and type in asus pundit. It pulls up a couple of sites that sell it.

Yeah this thing only sells for 179.99 in newegg. But I thought that if compusa has it... I can look at it first hand and take a good look to see whether a radeon9100 PCI is going to fit.

I'm not sure how much room the Pundit has in it, but the 9100 PCI is the same size as the AIW VE PCI (just a hair under 7" long). I took a couple of pics of it here:

The height of the radeon9100 PCI is 3.7 inch or less, am I right bout that?


I will have to get someone to measure the Pundit's PCI slot to find out precisely whether the card is going to fit or not.

Wouldn't having a wireless card in the pcmcia slot cause the door not to close due to the antenna of the card sticking out? Just curious...

Yeah it would be sticking out. But nevertheless the door would be removed once I get the machine. And unless I am transporting it I would mostly not have the door on at all. I dont mind seeing all those ports.

Or If I am an aesthetic kind of guy, I could mod my own external antenal.... eheh that would be a good idea.

UPDATE: RADEON 9100 PCI fits in a PUNDIT

This is based on my calculation of the height of the radeon 9100 from a picture with a ruler as a scale. Calculated height is about 3.7inch +/-0.2inch(may be .3 inch)

And the maximum height that was measured by a pundit user in sudhian, Chynn, 4 inch is the maximun height that the pundit is going to take a card.

So technically with the information I gathered it seems like it will fit. Hopefully the information are accurate enuff. Coz otherwise I am screwed.

Meaning I have not yet have a pundit with radeon9100 in it.
