Unbelievable meeting. Company is telling how important we are, how we need to do much more. Oh, we aren't going to help, expect less help.

This is why people kill others in America.

I'm not quite sure where this thread took a wrong turn, but I don't have time at the moment to clean & reopen. -DrPizza

This does not promote synergy. :hmm:

No shit. Now they are telling us that we cost too much. Scarey thing is that I'm smarter than ask the these people. No bonuses for us although that practically ended. I asked if that applies applies to execs.

The kiss asses were appauled.

Work smarter, work someplace else.

go office space on them, see if you get a promotion

Peter Gibbons: Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late, ah, I use the side door - that way Lumbergh can't see me, heh heh - and, uh, after that I just sorta space out for about an hour.

Bob Porter: Da-uh? Space out?

Peter Gibbons: Yeah, I just stare at my desk; but it looks like I'm working. I do that for probably another hour after lunch, too. I'd say in a given week I probably only do about fifteen minutes of real, actual, work.

We used to have company meetings. Our company is small, about 8-12 regular employees with a few contracting producers. The execs and owners of the company know very little about actual TV producing, so they rely on the contracting producers.

Anyway, at these meetings they would tell us how important all of us are, how we are a family. Everyone needs to contribute and if anyone comes up with an idea for a show, they'll pursue it. Sounds appropriate being that we're small.

However the meetings came to an end, at least at the office. Now they meetings are at a restaurant every Wednesday, and nobody below the line (editors, coordinators) is invited to the lunch. Even our guy who is supposed to be an in-house producer is regularly ignored and they try to sneak out on him. He has to wait around the door for them to show up and then he asks if they are going to lunch. Reluctantly they say yes and he goes with them. One time recently they all walked out the door passed him without saying anything, even while he was talking to them. They came back inside to get him, but they almost left without him.

I'm just an editor, but the senior editor is never invited. He saves their asses a lot too.

you're paying for your kids college? Lucky kids, my mom wont even chip in xD

She shouldn't chip in

Only in America "college education" is considered "parents responsibility".

It shouldn't be, and it isn't.

I'm not saying parents shouldn't help out (assuming kid is responsible etc)......
