I'm pretty sure the guy actually said thats what it was after he shot her. He also sitting on a box of rock salt when he shot her. And a printout about loading shotguns with rocksalt fell out of his pants pocket when he came out side.
 
I've seen villians survive being blasted in the face with an orbital ion cannon and come back just dandy shotgun at point blank is nothing... Oh and I think I remember reading a few pages back that it was loaded with rock salt.

No. The shotgun shell was loaded with rock salt. The gun was fired, then her chest was loaded with rock salt.
 
I heard the gun was loaded with rock salt, is there any truth to this?

If I had a shotgun loaded with rock salt, I'd probably shoot a cow with it and eat the cow.

Or make some jerky.

Rock salt loaded shotgun shells are the time honored way for rural farmers to keep pesky human pests (typically teenage boys) from raiding their various crops...or so the rumors abounded way back in the day.

I imagine having your backside penetrated by large chunks of salt would indeed smart a bit.

Rock salt in shotgun shells in a time honored rural tradition. You get to inflict all the pain of a shotgun blast without risk of death (providing you don't hit them in the face) or infection. The salt pentrates the skin and promptly breaks up while passing through tissue, at a distance this has the effect of putting salt just under the skin which causes a horrible burning sensation (or so I've been told) and has the positive benefit of preventing infection from the broken skin because of the high salt concentration in the tissue.
