I believe the the shotgun rounds used some kind of crystallized form of NaCl, otherwise known as Sodium Chloride.

actually, most rock salt is made from calcium chloride, to take advantage of the colligative properties

I hope someone asks how she actually killed Bill in the end in another thread. You can be a little more creative with "5 point exploding heart technique" than you can with "rock salt". :p
