Obviously, they are feeding this homeless guy booze, food and probably drugs (I did see a joint behind his ear in the opening shots) for their own amusement. People like the "star" are desperate and will do anything for just a few bucks; including, obviously, chanting some bullshit slogan for a pint of vodka and a Taco Bell #2.

Maybe if they actually had to fend for themselves, even for one week, they would have a greater appreciation for the money it takes to keep their sorry asses fed, clothed, in school and off the streets.
