7-8yo frigging years old becoming common? And on the news they were mentioning kids having intercourse at 10! At least the onset of menstruation appears unchanged but being a parent must be a nightmare nowadays. 😱

These studies always seem to focus on girls though. Must be because the changes are more visible and there's the danger of pregnancy. Still, this might explain the hordes of young female Bieber fanatics. 😀

This study wasnt designed to find if puberty was starting earlier. Some of the selected study participants were chosen BECAUSE they seemed to have hit puberty early.


So yes, some girls are going to hit puberty earlier. But on average nothing has changed

But yeah, study is kinda interesting. I remember that my girlfriend in 5th grade was the only girl in the whole school that had tits...now a days I don't see any females that don't have some kinda boobage going on that arent significantly young (like 2-5 y.o.)...

Plus I think some of it has to do with race and genetics...I was working in New Mexico a year ago or so and some of the Native-American girls out there blew me away with how developed some of them were compared to similarly aged white/black kids here...I remember seeing this one girl that couldnt have been more that 6 years old (going on height and look of face) with I swear B-cup breasts and quite a developed body (as far as muscular development and just that over all "mature" look and posture)...she looked like a 3 1/2 foot 20 year old...blew me away! And she wasnt the only one...like ALL the girls that age had something going on in the form of developing...was crazy...

It's well known and confirmed by many studies beyond these two that girls have been hitting puberty and earlier ages than they used to and the trend has been going on since the middle ages.
