Kid steals 25 cent cheese and hilarity ensues

Sounds like something that would happen in Georgia....not Texas. Then again, Texas does fry a lot of people!

Deer Park officials tell Eyewitness News the school has one to five cheese thefts per week and this is how they will continue to handle the suspected thefts.

So they're going to rack up potentially $2000 in legal bills to fight the loss of $1.25 of CHEESE per week?

In other news: The principal of Deer Park High School had his car filled with molten Velveeta today, sources claim that it was creamy.

"Deer Park officials tell Eyewitness News the school has one to five cheese thefts per week and this is how they will continue to handle the suspected thefts."

5 cheese thefts X 35 weeks in a school year = 175 thefts of cheese per year

175 cheese thefts X 25 cents = $73.75 worth of cheese stolen in one year

175 cheese thefts X $400 in court costs = $70,000 per year

...why not just put up a sign saying the cheese costs $0.25?

That would make SENSE.

That would be LOGICAL.

That has NOTHING to do with modern PC political thinking.

My college cafeteria was like this too....nothing was labeled right, you'd get back to the table and realize they charged you for something extra, then go back and get it and it'd be like WWIII coming down on you over nickel and dime items.

WTF does this have to do with PC?

That article makes me wish it were April 1st, the thought that anyone (the school officials, the cops who responded, etc) could be so infinitely stupid is proof that there is no hope for us.

We're doomed.

What does "PC" have to do with anything? Why do you conservatives have to label everything that you don't agree with "PC"?

"The ticket says this is a Theft, Class-C violation, including one plastic container of melted cheese," said Corey's Mom, Donna Campbell. "It's valued at 25 cents."

Since it's only $0.25, it's okay to steal it, right Donna?

I was arrested for stealing a lug nut off a car wheel. The ticket said "misdemeanor offense: theft of item being one lug nut..."

The Judge threw it out.

I have the ticket framed in my room.
